一种求函数近似值的数值方法。若已知函数f(x)在n＋1个点的值f（x璱）（i＝０，１，２，…，n），要求作出适当的函数φ(x)逼近f(x)，使得φ(x璱）＝f(x璱)，函数φ(x)称为ゝ(x)的插值函数”，x璱称为插值节点”。如果φ(x)为多项式，就称它为插值多项式”。插值法是函数逼近的重要方法，也是导出许多其他数值方法的出发点。
