关于世界观、价值观、方法论的学说。是在具体各门科学知识的基础上形成的，具有抽象性、反思性、普遍性的特点。哲学的根本问题是思维和存在、精神和物质的关系问题，根据对这个问题的不同回答而形成唯心主义哲学和唯物主义哲学两大对立派别。人和世界的关系问题已成为当代哲学研究的重大问题。

1. 源出希腊语philosophia，意即爱智慧。社会意识形态之一，是关于世界观的学说。是自然知识和社会知识的概括和总结。哲学的根本问题是思维和存在、精神和物质的关系问题，根据对这个问题的不同解释而形成两大对立派别：唯心主义哲学和唯物主义哲学。

   马克思 和 恩格斯 批判地吸收了过去哲学上的成就，总结了自然科学的成果和无产阶级斗争的历史经验，建立了马克思主义哲学，即辩证唯物主义和历史唯物主义。
