清代皇帝的宫苑。建于清康熙中至乾隆初。在今北京海淀区。与长春园、万春园（也叫绮春园）合称圆明三园。分朝寝区、后湖区、福海、后湖北小园等园区。有西洋楼、万花阵、大水法、上下天光、万方安和、方壶胜境、蓬岛瑶台等四十多处胜景，素有“万园之园”的美誉。咸丰十年（1860）被英法联军洗劫，仅存遗址。是全国重点文物保护单位。

1. 清 代名园之一。遗址在 北京 海淀 附近。原为 明 代故园。

   康熙 四十八年赐予 胤禛 ( 雍正 )。 雍正 即位后大加扩建， 乾隆 踵其事，至 嘉庆 始建成环绕 福海 的 圆明 、 万春 、 长春 三园，总称“圆明园”。园地周围广达二十余里，半水半陆，园景汇集了当时 江 南若干名园的特点，集我国古代造园艺术精华，被誉为“万园之园”。 咸丰 十年 英 法 联军劫掠园中珍物，并纵火焚烧。今仅存残迹。
