汉语拼音：chán chú

1.两栖动物，身体表面有许多疙瘩，内有毒腺，能分泌黏液，吃昆虫、蜗牛等小动物，对农业有益。通称癞蛤蟆或疥蛤蟆。

2.传说月亮里面有三条腿的蟾蜍，因此，古代诗文里常用来指月亮。

1. 亦作“ 蟾蠩 ”。亦作“ 蟾诸 ”。两栖动物。俗称癞蛤蟆。形似蛙而大，背面多呈黑绿色，有大小疙瘩。耳后腺和皮肤腺分泌白色黏液，可入药。

   《淮南子·原道训》：“夫释大道而任小数，无以异於使蟹捕鼠，蟾蠩捕蚤。” 汉 张衡 《西京赋》：“蟾蜍与龟，水人弄蛇。” 清 赵翼 《岭南物产图》诗：“蛤蚧脰能鸣，蟾蜍眉有毒。” 清 王应奎 《柳南随笔》卷二：“﹝ 徐启新 ﹞为子延师而供膳甚菲。邨中四五月间人多食蛙者，然必从市中买之。 启新 以蟾诸类蛙，而堦下颇伙，即命童子取以供师。”

2. 《后汉书·天文志上》“言其时星辰之变” 南朝 梁 刘昭 注：“ 羿 请无死之药於 西王母 ， 姮娥 窃之以奔月…… 姮娥 遂託身于月，是为蟾蠩。”后用为月亮的代称。

   唐 杜甫 《八月十五夜月》诗之二：“刁斗皆催晓，蟾蜍且自倾。” 明 刘基 《水龙吟·夜闻铜瓶汤响作》词：“玉釭开尽丹葩，画簷深宿蟾蜍影。” 清 金农 《东冈卧病》诗：“蟾蜍两岁照秋林，忽忽奚堪百感侵。”

3. 形似蟾蜍的器物。(1)候风地动仪上的部件。

   《后汉书·张衡传》：“外有八龙，首衔铜丸，下有蟾蜍，张口承衔之。”(2)古建筑的承溜装置。 北魏 郦道元 《水经注·洧水》：“旧引 绥水 南入塋域而为池沼，沼在丑地，皆蟾蜍吐水，石隍承溜。”(3)砚滴或砚台。《西京杂记》卷六：“唯玉蟾蜍一枚，大如拳，腹空，容五合水，光润如新，王取以盛书滴。” 唐 常衮 《晚秋集贤院即事寄徐薛二侍郎》诗：“缀帘金翡翠，赐砚玉蟾蜍。” 清 赵翼 《汪水云砚歌》：“想当搦管濡墨时，蟾蜍滴泪和墨砚淋漓。”(4)旧俗点缀端阳节景的五毒制品之一。 清 陈维崧 《虞美人·端午闺词》词：“灵符颭上香云腻。绣虎釵头睡，守宫蜥蜴粉蟾蜍，还剩玄綃半捻裹蜘蛛。”
