“咎”指过失（因疏忽大意而犯的错误），引咎是指把过失归在自己身上，目的在于自责。引咎辞职一般指领导人因自身过失而给工作造成了一定损失或产生了某种不利影响从而主动辞去领导职务的行为，是领导人自我追究过失责任的一种形式。
