形状像牌楼的构筑物，旧时多用来表彰忠孝节义的人物，如功德牌坊、贞节牌坊。

1. 旧时为表彰某人的德行而设立的一种纪念性建筑物。如贞节牌坊、功德牌坊等。柱间上部为横向匾额，题有文字。
