〈动〉特指牺牲生命或负伤。

1. 因身体受伤，血液从血管中流出。

   《左传·成公二年》：“ 郤克 伤於矢，流血及屨。”《北史·崔浩传》：“初， 浩 父疾篤，乃翦爪截髮，夜在庭中仰祷斗极，为父请命，求以身代，叩头流血，岁餘不息。” 唐 杜甫 《垂老别》诗：“积尸草木腥，流血川原丹。”

2. 引申指人员伤亡。

   《史记·平津侯主父列传》：“古之人君一怒必伏尸流血，故圣王重行之。”

3. 指牺牲生命或负伤。

   《老残游记》第一回：“你们大家敛几个钱来，我们捨出自己的精神，拼着几个人流血，替你们挣个万世安稳自由的基业。” 毛泽东 《中共中央关于西藏工作方针的指示》：“我们要用一切努力和适当办法……达到不流血地在多年内逐步地改革 西藏 经济政治的目的。”

4. 古代指预兆兵灾的流动的赤气。

   晋 干宝 《搜神记》卷三：“ 元康 五年三月， 吕县 有流血，东西百餘步，其后八载，而 封云 乱 徐州 ，杀伤数万人。”《晋书·惠帝纪》：“﹝ 永平 六年﹞三月， 东海 陨霜，伤桑麦。 彭城 吕县 有流血，东西百餘步。”
