中医针刺和艾灸疗法的合称。针刺是用针具刺入人体一定穴位，以调整人体气血。灸法是用陈艾叶搓成艾团或艾卷，点火燃烧，以温灼穴位的皮肤达到温通气血的目的。

1. 亦作“鍼灸”。中医针法和灸法的总称。针法是用特制的金属针，按一定穴位，刺入患者体内，运用操作手法以达到治病的目的。灸法是把燃烧着的艾绒，温灼穴位的皮肤表面，利用热刺激来治病。针灸是我国医学的宝贵遗产。

   《素问·病能论》：“有病颈痈者，或石治之，或鍼灸治之而皆已。”《史记·扁鹊仓公列传》：“或不当饮药，或不当鍼灸。” 晋 葛洪 《抱朴子·勤求》：“被疾病则遽针灸。” 唐 吴兢 《贞观政要·征伐》：“ 道宗 在阵损足，帝亲为针灸。” 清 俞正燮 《癸巳类稿·持素毕》：“宗气营卫，有生之常，鍼灸之外，汤药至齐。”
