现在世界各国通用一星期七天的制度。这个制度最早由君士坦丁大帝制定。他在公元321年3月7日正式宣布7天为1周，这个制度一直沿用至今。一周7天的英文名称是Sunday（星期天）、Monday（星期一）、Tuesday（星期二）、Wednesday（星期三）、Thursday（星期四）、Friday（星期五）、Saturday（星期六）。
