能生出可见菌丝的真菌的统称。体呈丝状，丛生。多腐生。种类很多，常见的有根霉、毛霉、曲霉和青霉等。霉菌多用于生产工业原料和制造抗生素等。有一小部分霉菌也可引起人类疾病和动植物的病害。
