门户上的横木。旧时富贵之家门楣高大，因以“门楣”喻门第。

1. 亦作“ 门眉 ”。门框上端的横木。

   唐 白居易 《和答诗·和＜阳城驿＞》：“改为避贤驛，大署於门楣。” 太平天囯 洪仁玕 《英杰归真》：“天父暗置一硃书在燕寝门眉罅中，批云‘天王大道君王全’七字。” 冰心 《去国·斯人独憔悴》：“家门口停着四五辆汽车，门楣上的电灯，照耀得明如白昼。”

2. 门庭；门第。

   唐 陈元光 《太母魏氏半径题石》诗：“清贞蜚简籍，规范肃门楣。” 明 叶宪祖 《素梅玉蟾》第五折：“两家都是好门楣，结下 朱 陈 事更宜。” 徐特立 《我对于青年的希望》：“你们要光大门楣。”

3. 唐 陈鸿 《长恨歌传》：“男不封侯女作妃，看女却为门上楣。”后以“门楣”指能光大门第的女儿。

   《资治通鉴·唐玄宗天宝五年》：“ 杨贵妃 方有宠……民间歌之曰：‘生男勿喜女勿悲，君今看女作门楣。’” 胡三省 注：“凡人作室，自外至者，见其门楣宏敞，则为壮观。言 杨 家因生女而宗门崇显也。或曰：门以楣而撑拄，言生女能撑拄门户也。” 宋 苏轼 《昭君村》诗：“人言生女作门楣， 昭君 当时忧色衰。”

4. 指女婿。

   元 无名氏 《举案齐眉》第三折：“我穷则穷是秀才的妻室，你穷则穷是府君的门楣。” 明 高明 《琵琶记·激怒当朝》：“就写表奏与吾皇知，与他官拜清要地，务要来我处为门楣。”
