也叫机油。用在机械的运动部分的油质。起润滑、冷却、密封等作用。根据来源，有矿物润滑油、植物润滑油（如蓖麻油）、动物润滑油（如鲸蜡油）等。

1. 涂在机器轴承等运动部分表面的油状液体。有减少摩擦、避免发热、防止机器磨损等作用。一般是分馏石油的产物，也有从动植物油中提炼的。也叫滑润油。
