汉语拼音：dài fu

古代官职，位于卿之下，士之上。

1. 古职官名。

   周 代在国君之下有卿、大夫、士三等；各等中又分上、中、下三级。后因以大夫为任官职者之称。 秦 汉 以后，中央要职有御史大夫，备顾问者有谏大夫、中大夫、光禄大夫等。 唐 宋 尚存御史大夫及谏议大夫， 明 清 全废。

2. 爵位名。如 秦 汉 分爵位为公士、上造等二十级，其中大夫居第五级，官大夫为第六级，公大夫为第七级，五大夫为第九级。见《汉书·百官公卿表上》。

   隋 、 唐 、 明 、 清 的光禄大夫、荣禄大夫原为文职散官的称谓，专为封赠时用。

3. 宋 医官别设官阶，有大夫、郎、医效、祗候等。见 宋 洪迈 《容斋三笔·医职冗滥》。后称医生为大夫。

   冰心 《我们太太的客厅》：“ 周大夫 说：‘本来么，乍暖还寒时候，最容易伤风。’”

4. 对于手工艺人的敬称。

   《京本通俗小说·碾玉观音》：“啟请婆婆，过对门裱褙舖里，请 璩大夫 来説话。”
