   春秋 时 鲁国 卞 人， 孔子 弟子。性情直爽，勇敢，事亲孝，闻过则喜，长于政治。曾为 季孙氏 家臣，后任 卫 大夫 孔悝 邑宰，在贵族内讧中被杀害。《吕氏春秋·审己》：“水出於山而走於海，水非恶山而欲海也，高下使之然也。稼生於野而藏於仓，稼非有欲也，人皆以之也。故 子路 揜雉而復释之。” 汉 班昭 《东征赋》：“惕觉寤而顾问兮，想 子路 之威神。” 唐 韩愈 《知名箴》：“昔者 子路 ，惟恐有（又）闻。赫然千载，德誉愈尊。”

2. 后作为勇士的代称。

   《清平山堂话本·杨温拦路虎传》：“半千 子路 ，五百金刚，人人有举鼎威风，个个负拔山气概。”

3. 熊的别名。

   南朝 宋 刘敬叔 《异苑》卷三：“熊无穴，或居大树孔中。东土呼熊为‘子路’。”
