   《管子·轻重己》：“路有行乞者，则相之罪也。”《三国志·魏志·管宁传》“动见模楷焉” 裴松之 注引 三国 魏 鱼豢 《魏略》：“郡县以其鰥穷，给廪日五升，食不足，颇行乞，乞不取多。” 清 刘献廷 《广阳杂记》卷二：“ 李柪机 ，不知何许人，行乞于 汉口 。”

2. 佛教语。谓僧人托钵以求布施。

   《遗教经》：“何况出家入道之人为解脱故自降其身而行乞耶？” 南朝 梁 沉约 《述僧设会论》：“出家之人，本资行乞。”《隋书·经籍志四》：“男曰桑门……女曰比丘尼。皆剃落鬚髮，释累辞家，相与和居，治心修浄，行乞以自资，而防心摄行。”
