1. 谓船只靠岸停留。

   北魏 郦道元 《水经注·汳水》：“《续述征记》曰： 斜城 东三里， 晋 义熙 中， 刘公 遣 周超之 ……开水路，停泊于此。”《古今小说·汪信之一死救全家》：“ 汪革 又将 何县尉 停泊中途，诈称拒捕，以致上司激怒等因，説了一遍。” 王闿运 《陈夷务疏》：“而乃始禁停泊，继开海口；初以兵拒，继以礼迎。” 叶圣陶 《多收了三五斗》：“ 万盛米行 的河埠头，横七竖八停泊着乡村里出来的敞口船。”

2. 泛指停留，止息。

   唐 冯著 《短歌行》：“参辰无停泊，且顾一西东。” 唐 白居易 《山路偶兴》诗：“提笼復携榼，遇胜时停泊。”
