汉语拼音：píng zè

平声和仄声（上、去、入三声）。泛指由平仄构成的诗文韵律。

1. 平声和仄声。平指四声中的平声，仄指四声中的上、去、入三声。旧体诗词和骈俪文所用字音必须平仄相互交替，使声调谐协，谓之调平仄。

   宋 陈鹄 《耆旧续闻》卷四：“近代声律尤严，或乖平仄，则谓之失黏。”《二十年目睹之怪现状》第二五回：“一个是秀才，却是八股朋友，作起了八韵诗来，连平仄都闹不明白。”
