防风 [fáng fēng]

1. 古代传说中部落酋长名。

   《国语·鲁语下》：“ 丘 闻之，昔 禹 致羣神於 会稽 之山， 防风氏 后至， 禹 杀而戮之。其骨节专车。” 韦昭 注：“ 防风 ， 汪芒氏 之君名也。” 汉 张衡 《思玄赋》：“嘉羣神之执玉兮，疾 防风 之食言。” 清 孔尚任 《桃花扇·迎驾》：“莫学 防风 随后到， 涂山 明日会诸侯。”

2. 药草名。多年生草本植物，羽状复叶，叶片狭长，开白色小花。根供药用，有镇痛、祛痰等作用。

   《新唐书·方技传·许胤宗》：“即以黄耆、防风煑汤数十斛，置牀下，气如雾，熏薄之，是夕语。” 明 李时珍 《本草纲目·草二·防风》：“铜芸、茴草、屏风、蕳根、百枝、白蜚。防者，御也。其功疗风最要，故名。屏风者，防风隐语也。”
