光（电磁波）传播的速度。一般指光在真空中的传播速度。各种频率的光在真空中的速度都一样，为299 792 458米／秒，是自然界重要常数之一。光速在任何惯性系中都等于这一常数，任何物体的速度都不能超过光在真空中的速度。在介质中，各种频率的光传播速度各不相同，但都比在真空中小。
