中国广东省珠江口西侧香山县（今珠海市）属地，面积16.9平方公里，人口46.1万（1990），是世界著名的赌城。明嘉靖间都指黄庆，受葡人贿，以此地与葡人通商，每年收地租二万金。崇祯元年，葡始设官，清光绪十三年始与立约，许其管理。其地有阿妈神像，故外国有称为阿妈港者，英文Macao由此而来。1999年12月20日中华人民共和国政府恢复对澳门行使主权，成立澳门特别行政区。

1. 地名。位于珠江口西南，本属广东省香山（今中山）县，葡萄牙人于明嘉靖时至其地，清光绪时与之订约，正式割让澳门，成为葡萄牙永久的租借地，由总督掌管一切事务。由于地小人多，资源缺乏，观光及赌场成为主要的经济来源。名胜古迹有圣保罗教堂正门、国父纪念馆、妈祖庙等。
