又称光电池”。把太阳辐射能直接转化为电能的装置。常用的有硒、硅、硫化银等太阳能电池。当阳光射到电池的pn结时，半导体材料吸收光子能量产生电子空穴对，在pn结电场作用下电子和空穴分别移到n区和p区，于是在pn结两侧产生电势差，若将pn结与外电路接通，电路中就会有电流通过。广泛应用于人造卫星、太空实验室等。
