汉语拼音：xiě shēng

指在绘画中直接以实物为对象进行描绘的一种方式。

1. 直接以实物或风景为对象进行描绘的作画方式。

   宋 范镇 《东斋纪事》卷四：“又有 赵昌 者， 汉州 人，善画花，每晨朝露下时，遶栏槛諦玩，手中调采色写之，自号‘写生 赵昌 ’。” 明 《徐氏笔精》：“惟 元 倪瓚 辈始喜写生，脱画家蹊径。” 清 赵翼 《题肃本淳化帖》诗：“譬如画家写生法，须见美人描翠娥。” 田汉 《苏州夜话》：“我们这些穷学生到 苏州 来写生，根本就不容易。”

2. 以写生手法所作的画。

   清 平步青 《霞外攟屑·里事·张葆生》：“ 张尔葆 ，字 葆生 ， 松江 人，弱冠即有名画苑，写生入能品。” 柯岩 《最美的画册》诗：“一个接一个地交出了写生，呵，一次又一次我惊奇地眨着眼睛。”

3. 犹写照。

   明 姚士粦 《见只编》卷上：“然山皆积土，道不盈丈……飘尘喷人，不见草木。 梅尧臣 诗有‘古壁挂青苍’句，语虽佳，似不为此山写生。” 瞿秋白 《饿乡纪程》八：“道外这种远僻街巷，沿 松花江 边，几间土屋，围着洋铁皮木板乱七八糟钉成的短墙，养着几只泥猪；这就是 中国 人的写生。”参见“ 写照 ”。

4. 写出生意。指把对象写活。

   宋 苏轼 《书鄢陵王主簿所画折枝》诗之一：“ 边鸞 雀写生， 赵昌 花传神。”《壮悔堂文集》卷十附 清 贾开宗 《＜郭老仆墓志铭＞评》：“通篇淋漓写生，从来誌铭中第一。”
