荧光灯的俗称。

1. 灯的一种。在真空的玻璃管里装有水银，两端各有一个灯丝做电极，管的内壁涂有荧光粉。通电后，水银蒸气放电，同时产生紫外线，激发荧光粉而发光。这种光的成分和日光相似。也叫荧光灯。
