汉语拼音：pí pá

pí pá的又音。义同“琵琶pí pá”。

1. 弹拨乐器。初名批把，见《释名·释乐器》。此类乐器原流行于 波斯 、 阿拉伯 等地， 汉 代传入我国。后经改造，圆体修颈，有四弦、十二柱，俗称“秦汉子”。一说，我国 秦 末，百姓苦 长城 之役，弦鼗而鼓之，琵琶即始于此。(见 晋 傅玄 《〈琵琶赋〉序》。) 南北朝 时又有曲项琵琶传入我国，四弦，腹呈半梨形，颈上有四柱，横抱怀中，用拨子弹奏，即现今琵琶的前身。

   唐 宋 以来经不断改进，柱位逐渐增多，改横抱为竖抱，废拨子，改用手指弹奏。现今民间的琵琶有十七柱，通常称四相十三品，革新的琵琶有六相十八品；后者能弹奏所有半音，技法丰富，成为重要的民族独奏乐器。

2. 指弹奏琵琶的指法。

   宋 王谠 《唐语林·识鉴》：“﹝ 王蝺 ﹞又见 康崑崙 弹琵琶云：‘琵声多，琶声少，亦未可弹五十四丝大弦也。’自下而上谓之琵，自上而下谓之琶。”《儿女英雄传》第十八回：“怎的推手向外为琵，合手向内为琶，怎的为挑，为弄，为勾，为拨：－－指使的他按谱徵歌都学得心手相应。”

3. 鱼名。

   《文选·左思＜吴都赋＞》：“於是乎长鲸吞航，修鯢吐浪，跃龙腾蛇，鮫鯔琵琶。” 刘逵 注：“琵琶鱼，无鳞，其形似琵琶，东海有之。” 南朝 梁 任昉 《述异记》卷上：“海鱼千岁为剑鱼，一名琵琶，形似琵琶而善鸣，因以名焉。”
