在我国，指以非法占有为目的，采取威胁、要挟等手段迫使他人交出财物的行为。不同于诈骗罪，该罪采取欺诈手段，且有诈骗财物数额较大的限制；本罪则采取威胁、要挟等手段，且不论勒索财物数额的大小。
