多年生草本植物。茎高25—70厘米，绿色，间有紫色。叶对生，羽状复叶，小叶卵形，边缘有锯齿。花唇形，淡紫色。根肥大，入中药。有增加冠脉流量、改善心脏功能和心肌供血的作用。也用于治疗心肌梗死、脑缺氧、脑栓塞、神经衰弱等。

1. 多年生草本植物。中医以根入药，有镇静、调经等作用。
