伏尔加河 [fú ěr jiā hé]

1. 又译窝瓦河，位于俄罗斯的西南部的高加索地区，全长3692千米，也是欧洲最长的河流。更是世界最长、流域最广的内流河，伏尔加河发源于莫斯科西北面的瓦尔代丘陵，受周围地势的影响，这条河自北向南流入里海。沿岸城镇有伏尔加格勒（原斯大林格勒），是俄罗斯重要工业城市之一。伏尔加河在俄罗斯的国民经济和人民的生活中起着非常重要的作用，因而，俄罗斯人将伏尔加河称为“母亲河”，伊里亚·叶菲莫维奇·列宾也曾画过世界名画《伏尔加河上的纤夫》。
