内部具有很多微小气孔的塑料。用机械法(在进行机械搅拌的同时通入空气或二氧化碳使其发泡)或化学法(加入发泡剂)制得。分闭孔型和开孔型两类。闭孔型中的气孔互相隔离，有漂浮性；开孔型中的气孔互相连通，无漂浮性。可用聚苯乙烯、聚氯乙烯、聚氨基甲酸酯等树脂制成。可作绝热和隔音材料，用途很广。
