将枝条或根插入土中，以繁殖苗木的育苗方法。能速生和保持母树的优良特性。繁殖杨、柳、葡萄等均采用这种方法。

1. 植物无性繁殖方法之一。即取无性繁殖植物的一个营养器官(如枝、根等)，插入润湿的土或砂中，使生根抽枝，成为一新植株。常用的有枝插和根插两种。如葡萄、石榴、桑等常用枝插，枣、海棠等常用根插。
