杂技节目。演员驾驭或指挥经过驯练的狮、虎、熊、象、马、狗、猴、羊等动物，表演各种技巧动作。世界许多国家有此类表演。中国汉代即有驯马、斗虎、斗牛、驯象、弄蛇、驯鸟等。宋代更有小动物表演的乌龟踢弄”、教飞禽虫蚁”等。现代一些国家把杂技、驯兽和马术统称为马戏”。

1. 原为古代一种技艺， 唐 宋 时，马戏专指驯马和马术表演，现成为各种驯兽乃至杂技表演的统称。现代马戏一般在广场或特建的马戏场、大型篷帐中演出。
