一定时间内，工业企业、车间、工段或一组机器设备在正常生产技术条件下，可能生产某种产品的最大能力。以每一时间单位和生产数量(度量衡单位数或个数)表示。生产能力按其水平，可分为设计生产能力(公称生产能力)、查定生产能力、计划生产能力；按计算对象，可分为设备生产能力、生产面积生产能力。
