1. 犹言以后。

   《左传·襄公二十五年》：“﹝ 赵文子 ﹞谓 穆叔 曰：‘自今以往，兵其少弭矣。’”《史记·刺客列传》：“酒酣以往， 高渐离 击筑， 荆軻 和而歌於市中。”《太平广记》卷八一引 晋 王嘉 《王子年拾遗记·韩稚》：“ 牺 轩 以往，屑屑焉以相诛灭。”按，今本《拾遗记·前汉上》“以往”作“以来”。 严复 《救亡决论》：“继今以往，将皆视物理之明昧，为人事之废兴。”

2. 用于地名之后，表示位置已过这一地点。

   清 陈康祺 《郎潜纪闻》卷二：“陆行自兴安岭以往，林木丛杂，途径窄隘，冬雪之时，沙结氷坚。”

3. 犹言以上，表示数量有余。

   郭沫若 《屈原》人物表：“上官大夫 靳尚 －－ 楚怀王 之佞臣，年三十以往。”

4. 从前，以前。

   曹禺 《北京人》第一幕：“她这样地饱尝到作人的艰苦，变得忧郁而沉默，使她以往的朋友们惊叹一个少女怎会变得这样突然。” 碧野 《雪路云程》：“以往路没修通，牧民进山，人畜经常受到伤亡。”
