] 一种常绿灌木,椭圆形叶,有光泽,花淡红色,有香气。供观赏,根皮可入药。

瑞香 [ruì xiāng]

1. 植物名。也称睡香。常绿灌木，叶为长椭圆形。春季开花，花集生顶端，有红紫色或白色等，有浓香。

   宋 陶穀 《清异录·睡香》：“ 庐山 瑞香花，始缘一比丘昼寝盘石上，梦中闻花香烈酷不可名，既觉，寻香求之，因名睡香。四方奇之，谓乃花中祥瑞，遂以‘瑞’易‘睡’。” 明 李时珍 《本草纲目·草三·瑞香》﹝集解﹞引《格古论》：“瑞香高者三四尺，有数种：有枇杷叶者，杨梅叶者，柯叶者，毬子者，挛枝者，惟挛枝者花紫香烈，枇杷叶者结子。其始出於 庐山 ， 宋 时人家栽之，始著名。”《群音类选·泣颜回·咏花》：“荷花池畔戏鸳鸯，瑞香花偏惹蜂忙。”

瑞香 [ruì xiāng]

1. 植物名。瑞香科瑞香属，常绿灌木。叶呈长椭圆形，质厚，有光泽。春天开花，内白外紫红，香清气远。还有一种纯白花，香气更浓烈。纤维可以制纸，根皮可以入药，有消肿止痛的疗效。也称为「露申」。
