1. 州和郡的合称。亦泛指地方上。

   汉 班固 《西都赋》：“与乎州郡之豪杰，五都之货殖，三选七迁，充奉陵邑。盖以强干弱枝，隆上都而观万国也。”《后汉书·王龚传》：“ 永和 元年，拜太尉。在位恭慎，自非公事，不通州郡书记。”

2. 指州郡的长官。

   汉 蔡邕 《郭有道碑文》：“州郡闻德，虚己备礼，莫之能致。” 唐 刘知几 《史通·世家》：“至於 汉 代则不然，其宗子称王者，皆受制京邑，自同州郡。”
