船舶失事时能供遇难人员乘用，但无自航能力的救生设备。有传统式和气胀式两种。前者为环状金属空气浮箱；后者由橡胶锦纶布制成，可折合贮存，重量轻，占位小，用时抛入水中能迅速自动充气成形。广泛应用于各种客船。

救生筏 [jiù shēng fá]

1. 一种船上救生设备。供船舶遇难时，落水人员乘坐求生。传统式救生筏，一般是以镀锌铁板制成的环形水密空气箱，存放于船边特设的架子上，同时能利用本身重量落入水中。近代用橡樛布制成的充气式救生筏，重量轻，占位小，可折合储存，抛入水中即可自动充气成形。
