《汉书·王莽传下》：“省中相惊传，勒兵至郎署，皆拔刃张弩。” 后南朝梁袁昂用“剑拔弩张”形容书法雄健。今用“剑拔弩张”意同“拔刃张弩”，指形势紧张，一触即发。弩（nǔ）：古时利用机械力量射箭的弓。
