简称光纤。一种极细的能导光的纤维丝。它是利用石英或塑料等在高温下拉制而成的。纤维表层的折射率比中心折射率小，当光波从纤维丝的一端进入后，经过多次全反射，将顺着纤维丝的方向传输。排列整齐时可传输图像。光导纤维在医疗器械、电子光学仪器、光通信线路等方面有重要应用。
