1. 指画有鸿雁的旗。

   《礼记·曲礼上》：“前有车骑，则载飞鸿。” 孔颖达 疏：“鸿，鸿鴈也。鴈飞有行列，与车骑相似，若军前忽遥见彼人有多车骑，则画鸿於旌首而载之，使众见而为防也。”

2. 虫名。

   《逸周书·度邑》：“ 发 之未生，至于今六十年，夷羊在牧，飞鸿过野。”

3. 飞行着的鸿雁。

   汉 马融 《长笛赋》：“尔乃听声类形，状似流水，又象飞鸿。” 南朝 宋 鲍照 《数诗》：“四牡曜长路，轻盖若飞鸿。” 清 龚自珍 《点绛唇》词：“目送飞鸿，影入长天灭。”

4. 指音信。

   唐 韩愈 《祭窦司业文》：“自视雏鷇，望君飞鸿，四十餘年，事如梦中。”《二十年目睹之怪现状》第二二回：“无端天外飞鸿到，传得家庭噩耗来。”
